The Run That Changed Me

A bold statement I know but today I broke through a wall.

Jason Roberts after a full on run
Behind this serious face is a smile dying to get out!

I think the reason this run was so important is because I only set out to do half the distance and I really upped my pace. I have been dawdling around the high 9 minutes per mile pace mainly due to the hamstring injury I have been harbouring. I really had to dig to find today’s speed and focus to ignore the pain coursing through my legs. Although I maintain that speed is not very important in my challenge this was refreshing. I ended feeling mentally strong and alert.

The note I wrote on Runkeeper within minutes of finishing says it all.

Well done for breaking through the pain barrier but take it easy one race at a time :)
